Conversations is rich internet application that allows teachers to ask a questions and then prompt the student for a response immediately. Teachers and students can record via webcam or microphone. The teachers can ask questions that the students respond to. The teachers can control the amount of time that the student has to answer the question before the next question is asked. The teacher can view the submissions via the CLEAR website.
Ways Conversations can be used in the World Language Classroom:
  • Teachers can students can act of a scene or a real-life situation.
  • Students can read a passage and teachers could ask them questions about the passage.
  • Teachers can create a quiz that they would normally do with pen/paper and do it orally through conversations.
  • Teachers can ask the students personalized questions and allow them to respond accordingly.
