Blabberize is a tool that allows students to upload a picture and "make it talk". Students can upload a picture of themselves, a famous person or an animal. The students identify the mouth or the person or thing and the lips will move. The student can record themselves or upload a mp3 file. Currently students can convert their blabber into a video for free, but this is temporary while they are testing it.
Ways Blabberize can be used in the World Language classroom:
  • Students can upload a picture of a famous person in a country that your target language is spoken in and give a biography about themselves.
  • Students can upload a picture of an animal and make that sound in the target language (dogs do not bark in Spanish).
  • Students can upload a picture of themselves doing something that they like and describe the picture and why they like the activity.
  • Students can upload a picture of them when they were younger and use different verb tenses to describe themselves when they were younger and what they liekd to do.
